5 Ways to not get your point across in any field or profession:

    5. Point fingers and accuse others for why your presentation was below par or not what they were expecting (in a bad way)

    4. Scream and cry because your colleagues disagree with you and your decisions that effect the group

    3. Get defensive without understanding where your team is coming from in attempt to make your point heard and recognized

    2. Ask your team for support and help, listen to everyone’s ideas and comments, and then do the total opposite of what they suggested

    1. Use ‘I’ statements to turn constructive criticism away from yourself and back at what your team is doing wrong while placing the blame on matters that are not related to the current work load being completed.

Basically, keep your emotions in check and be willing to give what you are willing to receive. I always say, it’s always better to lead from the center of a circle then at the top of a pyramid.

The people around are see the things that you yourself cannot and their ideas and criticism is very important for your further development and improvement. Well, even negative feedback is helpful, just take it in and use it as motivation. No one likes being proved wrong, so succeed at the expense of their credibility.
